| The five distinct lines of the VIDLER family in Australia all originated in the South-Eastern areas of England, in particular from the Kent/Sussex border areas. Although the spelling in this country has been consistently VIDLER (with one exception) since the families arrived, research in England has shown that the spelling was originally VITLER, which I personally believe to have been a derivative of VICTUALLER. |
